Megan Thee Stallion is still reeling from her breakup with Klay Thompson and reveals she’s never experienced heartbreak quite like this before.
Megan Thee Stallion is still processing the abrupt end of her relationship with Klay Thompson, and she’s not hiding how much the breakup has shaken her.
The rapper opened up about the split in a recent interview With Marie Claire, revealing that she’s never experienced anything quite like this before in her romantic life.
She’s been letting herself feel the full weight of the heartbreak rather than rushing to move past it, and her words paint a picture of someone still very much in the thick of it.
“I’m not pretending I’m 100 percent okay,” she said. “I ain’t never been through nothing like that in my whole life. I’ve never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever. So I’m definitely not worried about another one for a long time.”

The rawness in that statement speaks volumes about where she’s at emotionally right now.
When they went public in July 2025, everything seemed like a fairy tale. They posted joint workout videos, family dinners, and even shared a photo of keys to their new home together. Less than a year later, it all fell apart.
The breakup hit different because of how sudden it was.
“It was so abrupt. I’m in shock still,” she explained, according to Marie Claire.
She’s been grieving not just the relationship itself but the future she thought she had mapped out with him.
Megan accused Thompson of cheating, getting cold feet, and having horrible mood swings during basketball season. She also revealed that he’d questioned whether monogamy was even right for him, which made her feel like she was constantly walking on eggshells.
The emotional toll has been physical too.
“When something is meant for you, it’s gonna be easy,” she said. “It’s gonna be right. It’s not gonna feel like a panic all the time. I feel like that’s what I was in, constantly on edge. My nervous system needed to calm down. I feel like I was in a panic 24/7. I’m still not eating all the way right. I’m feeling all the feelings. I’m not trying to take no shortcuts.”
She’s been honest about the fact that she’s not rushing her healing process, which is refreshing in a culture that often expects people to bounce back immediately.
One of the biggest lessons she’s taking from this is trusting her gut.
“Sometimes I be knowing in my gut and in my heart, then you give so much benefit of the doubt,” she said. “No, the gut is always right. Listen.”
She’s also found humor in her spiritual journey, joking about being done asking God for signs.
“No more signs,” she laughed. “Send us an email. Call, please! They never, ever stop. Sorry I asked. I ain’t asking for shit right now.”
