Busta Rhymes closes in on ending Dashiel Gables’ case with a $25,000 agreement covering wage claims and wider workplace allegations.
Busta Rhymes will pay former assistant Dashiel Gables $25,000 to end their court fight over pay and claims of abuse at work.
New court papers finally put a number on the deal after both sides agreed to settle earlier this year. Gables will receive two payments of $12,500, with half treated as wages and the other half covering the remainder of the deal.
The money is due after a federal judge signs off on the pay part of the case. The papers name Trevor Smith, Busta’s legal name, along with Starbus LLC and Conglomerate Entertainment as the sides making the payment.
That $25,000 total is far below the roughly $6 million Gables once sought over his short time working for Busta.

AllHipHop previously reported that Gables worked as Busta’s personal assistant from around July 2024 until the job ended in January 2025.
Gables claimed he often worked 15 to 18 hours each day, seven days a week, while earning a flat $200 daily rate. He said those long days followed him on tour and included food runs, personal errands and other jobs for Busta.
The case grew more serious after Gables accused Busta of punching him several times inside a Brooklyn building on January 10, 2025.
Gables said the argument involved work, a late food order and his phone after his daughter tried to reach him. He claimed the alleged attack left marks on his face, sent him for medical care and ended the job that same day.
One of the strangest claims involved a clogged toilet and another assistant who worked around Busta during the same period.
Gables alleged Busta ordered that worker to clear the toilet with a bare hand after saying it had not been cleaned right.
Other claims accused Busta of yelling at workers, spitting on staff, making threats and treating people around him in harsh ways.
Busta denied the claims, saying Gables made them up after their brief working relationship failed and his job ended.
Busta later sued Gables, alleging that his former assistant had spread false claims that damaged his reputation and business ties. He said the case cost him at least two brand deals while the fight moved through a federal court in New York.
The new deal ends that two-way fight without a trial to decide whether either side proved their claims. It also says neither side admits doing anything wrong, so the $25,000 payment is not a ruling against Busta.
Once Gables gets the full amount, he must drop the lawsuit for good and cannot bring the same claims again.
The deal also says Gables must give up his pay claims and return private work records tied to his job.
Gables also says he got all money owed for the hours he worked before signing the deal.
That matters because long hours and the loss of overtime pay were a big part of his case from the start. Busta and Gables signed the $25,000 deal on May 27, 2026, putting the agreement in writing after those talks.
The court still must approve the pay deal before the final papers can be filed and the case can fully close.
