Ilhan Omar’s son’s home gets raided by Minneapolis police who recover guns and arrest his roommate on weapons charges.
Ilhan Omar is dealing with a serious situation after Minneapolis police executed a search warrant at her son’s apartment on Tuesday night, recovering firearms and ammunition from the residence.
Law enforcement sources told Alpha News that officers conducted the raid at the home of Omar’s son Adnan, where they found weapons and arrested his roommate Abdulrahman Abdi, 22, without any resistance.
According to the Daily Mail, the operation followed a traffic stop earlier that day, during which Abdi was cited for driving without proof of insurance and a valid license.
The situation escalated when officers discovered a firearm inside the vehicle during the traffic stop. Abdi was released at the scene initially, but police tracked him down to an address on Marquette Avenue where they took him into custody.

He was booked into Hennepin County Jail on weapons charges and released the following evening, according to court records.
Abdi’s past includes serious traffic violations and reckless driving incidents that paint a picture of someone with consistent run-ins with law enforcement.
In 2024, he was convicted of a felony after officers clocked him traveling at 108 miles per hour in St. Paul while behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
He pleaded guilty to fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and received one day in Dakota County Jail plus two years of supervised probation.
Other convictions dating back to 2022 involve cell phone use while driving, excessive speeding, and failure to provide proof of insurance.
This incident comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Omar’s family, particularly after she revealed last year that her son was stopped by federal immigration agents who questioned his citizenship.
She also claimed ICE agents had previously entered a mosque where her son was praying, though they left without making any arrests.
