Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis revealed he is planning an appeal after he was found guilty of orchestrating Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder.
Duane “Keefe D” Davis is heading to prison for orchestrating the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur and he’s already planning his next move.
The conviction comes nearly 30 years after Shakur’s was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip in September 1996.
After the judge ordered Davis held without bail, he immediately told the court: “I would like to appeal this matter.”

Davis now faces life in prison. He’ll wait six weeks to learn his fate, with a sentencing hearing scheduled for October 13.
The case against Davis relied heavily on his own words. Prosecutors presented hours of taped police interviews where Davis admitted his involvement in the murder.
They also used his 2019 tell-all memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” as evidence.
Prosecutors argued Davis didn’t pull the trigger himself but ordered Tupac Shakur’s murder and provided the gun to his now-deceased nephew Orlando Anderson.
After being charged, Davis claimed his confessions were lies. But the jury wasn’t convinced.
The prosecution made their case clear: “The only reason we’re even here today is because Duane Davis felt the need to profit off of his crimes.”
Shakur’s loved ones were visibly emotional in the courtroom as the verdict was read. But not everyone sees this as the final chapter.
A close colleague of Tupac spoke passionately after the verdict, suggesting the conspiracy runs deeper.
“There’s more people to have to pay for the death of Tupac. So, Keefe D. is not the lone soldier here. It’s a bigger conspiracy.”
Davis is the only person ever charged in Tupac Shakur’s murder. Three other men prosecutors say were in the car the night Tupac was killed are now deceased.
Davis has repeatedly claimed that Sean “Diddy” Combs offered him and The Southside Crips $1 million to kill Tupac Shakur and Marion “Suge” Knight.
Diddy has denied the claims.
